W.Bro Thomas Macklin. Initiated 1772 - Died 1824 A famous Mason in relation to the history of the present Royal Gloucester Lodge. He was Worshipful Master of the Lodge no less than 16 times between 1784-1805. He is shown here in a painting by the local artist Bro Tobias Young, also a member of the Antient Lodge. He is gone but not forgotten, and still watching over the Brethren of the Lodge at every meeting. |

Home of the Royal Gloucester Lodge No.130. Locally known as Forty Steps on account of being at the top of a mid 19th Century stone staircase which in former times lead down to the shore line below the town walls. |
